Comparing different import files
How to create the BOM table & balloon for an import file in proper way?
Parasolid - X_t
1. Initially, the import file looks as below image. Save as assembly, and save all. Then create drawing.
2. Sequence A: create balloon then create BOM table. The balloon will be affected by table number.
Sequence B: create BOM table, then only create balloon (recommend)
STEP File
1. Open the import file.
2. Right click top-level of sub assembly > Dissolve feature
Pop-up below message, then choose Yes
3. Right click Top-level sub assembly > Open file
4. Save as your file. Pop-up below message, just select OK. Your file will be save in assembly. Then the initial import file not need save.
5. Create Drawing. Create BOM table, then only create balloon. The same name of sub assembly will be count as same number.
IGES File
1. Continue the steps as STEP File. The different only is the IGES file will auto dissolve the sub assembly as below image.
** For your information: STL & 3D XML are not suitable save in assembly or drawing.
